BIOGRAPHY
I am a coral reef ecologist working at the intersection of coral physiology, ecology and environmental change.
My research focuses on understanding why some corals tolerate environmental stress better than others, how previous environmental exposure shapes later responses, and how these physiological responses scale up to influence coral populations and reef communities.
I combine field surveys, long-term ecological observations and controlled experiments to study coral bleaching, mortality, thermal tolerance, acclimation, environmental memory and reef health.
My field experience spans environmentally extreme and tropical reef systems including the Persian Gulf, Okinawa, Indonesia and Taiwan.
